To Fellow Malaysians,
Saladin the Animated Series, an animation production I worked on from 2006-2009 as a storyboard artist is finally premiering on local TV (it's had a head-start in Middle Eastern countries like Qatar, etc). It's a fictional take on the young (mis)adventures of Saladin, the man who would eventually become one of the prominent figures in history. The cartoon is full of action, friendship, intrigue, and romance, and it's a show I had a lot of fun working on alongside many talented people.
So if you can, catch the weekly show with family and friends starting this
Saturday Nov 20 on TV1 at
7:30pm, with
repeats on Sunday morning at 9:30am.
I hope you enjoy the fruits of our labour!
And for the record, Saladin
is absolutely NOT Aladdin; It's the western name of actual historical figure
Ṣalāḥ ad-Dīn Yūsuf ibn Ayyūb, whom you can read more about
here ; The most prominent depiction of him to date in the English-speaking world is in Ridley Scott's Kingdom of Heaven).
